The Biltmore Estate is a beautiful place to visit any time of year. The house is fabulous, the gardens and grounds are simply spectacular, and the food and wine options are in a class by themselves. These things are true on every Biltmore visit.
But the Christmas season might just be the most magical time of the year.
Christmas is definitely the most popular time to visit the Biltmore Estate, and with good reason! The house is decked to the nines with trees and garlands, ribbons and bows. A daytime "House and Grounds" admission ticket provides access to a timed entry to the Biltmore house, where visions of sugarplums await around every corner!
An evening "Candlelight Christmas House and Grounds" ticket provides an even more magical experience! Imagine visiting the beautiful Biltmore house and seeing all the decorations in the glow of literally thousands of candles.
During the holidays, the usual restaurants, winery, and shopping options await your visit -- but with special holiday flair! The seasonal menus have not yet been released, but you can be assured that all onsite restaurants are devoted to Biltmore's farm-to-table philosophy, with unsurpassed attention to detail. And while I had a sneak peek of the Christmas season during my October visit, the full release of fabulous holiday-inspired items will be available soon!
I'm already planning a return visit to experience the holiday magic for myself. It's about a two-hour drive from Charlotte or Knoxville, and flying into Asheville itself is a great option, especially for a quick trip.
PRO TIP: Before booking any transportation or non-refundable lodging, ensuring that Biltmore tickets are available for your preferred date and time is essential. Tickets are going fast for the holidays, with some dates and times already sold out.
A visit to the Biltmore Estate fits perfectly into a long weekend in Asheville. Whether you stay onsite at one of the luxurious Biltmore hotels or cottages, or whether you decide to stay somewhere else in the Asheville area, a visit to Biltmore should be on your Christmas Wish List.
